St. Matthew CYO Mission Statement

The mission of St. Matthew CYO is to provide the highest quality programs to our young people within the Catholic Parish environment. We are committed to providing these programs based on integrity, fair play and the right of all individuals to participate. We strive to provide an enjoyable and educational experience for all those involved through a fun but structured environment. We view our responsibility as extending far beyond the mere teaching of athletic skills. Our programs offer the opportunity to develop moral standards in all of our young people not only in the game of basketball but also life lessons to carry on in the future.

We encourage patience and tolerance among coaches and parents when developing the athletic skills of young players. Youth Basketball is just one component of the St. Matthew comprehensive youth ministry program which enables the partnership of parents, priests, religious, teachers and adult leaders to manage and support a sports program that allows the youth of our parish to grow in their relationship with God and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic faith.
